On 11th January 2022, CHAD and the Faculty of Public Health hosted the third in a series of webinars relating to COVID-19, health impacts and inequalities: COVID-19 and Homelessness: Experiences, key learning and what comes next.
Seventy-five delegates from a range of professions and sectors joined us to hear rich and powerful insights from speakers with first-hand experience of the Everyone In initiative, the national emergency response to identify and move all rough sleepers in England into emergency accommodation (during the first COVID-19 lockdown, March 2020). Charlotte Bates from Expert Citizens, Stoke-on-Trent, shared her first hand experience of being accommodated through Everyone In and her subsequent involvement in the Kerslake Commission. Sharon Thompson from Birmingham City Council then spoke passionately about her experience of implementing the programme in Birmingham. Both speakers provided valuable insights on learning from Everyone In and thoughts about the future.
