The Centre for Health and Development (CHAD) at Staffordshire University hosted a conference on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), in partnership with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner Staffordshire.
The event took place on Wednesday, 20 November 2019 at the Leek Road Campus, Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent.
Following presentation of CHADs evaluation of routine enquiry about ACEs, the audience heard from Ruth Mason-Tooth (GLOW), who talked about ‘Accepting Children as Experts’, Dr Anne-Marie McBlain’s presentation on ‘Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed Care’ and Louise Purdy (Youth Offending Service) on ‘Moving towards trauma informed practice’.
The conference closed with a showing of ‘Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope’ (2017).
